Suzi Perry and Ortis Deley to Host the Glomo Awards for a Second Year!

Suzi Perry was the first permanent female anchor of BBC One’s Formula 1 coverage, then in 2016 she returned to the world of motorcycle racing when she joined the BT Sport team as channel ambassador and host of their Moto GP and Speedway GP series. Travelling the World to report from trackside and speaking to the biggest names in motorsport for more than two decades, truly makes her the Queen of the Pit Lane.
It’s not all about wheels and petrol though, Suzi’s other sport hosting credits include the BBC’s live coverage of Royal Ascot, Wimbledon, the London Marathon, the Trooping of the Colour, the London Olympics, the Great North Run and the legendary Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race.
Growing up surrounded by music (her dad was a leading band manager, booking agent and venue promoter and her god-father was a founding member of White Snake), Suzi has a deep love for radio and live performances. She is regularly called upon to cover the early breakfast show on BBC Radio 2 and following a hugely positive response from the audience, she has also covered the drive time show and fronted a documentary looking at the music playlist choices of the Worlds leading F1 drivers, both of which she loved.
Also known for her love of technology, Suzi hosted Channel 5’s hugely popular Gadget Show for 8 years, covering an astonishing 17 series. During this time she also presented Gadget Show Live at the NEC. The event is held over 5 days for more than 75,000 guests. She has also held the role of technology ambassador for the Ideal Home Show.
Suzi’s numerous TV credits include, How to Take Stunning Pictures and Operation Homefront for Channel 5; House Call, City Hospital, Superstars, Watchdog and the National Lottery for BBC One and Treasure Hunt and F1 Rewind on BBC Two.
Suzi will appear in the 2016 celebrity Christmas specials of Question Of Sport and Robot Wars. She’s also appeared as a guest on shows including; Saturday Kitchen, The One Show, They Think it’s all Over, Sarah Millican, NevermindThe Buzzcocks, Eggheads and Pointless to name a few as well hosting features on This Morning, The Alan TitchmarshShow and Daybreak.
Over the years she has also enjoyed her role as a contributing journalist, working with titles such as; The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, Motorcycle News, T3, Stuff Magazine and MSN.
As an accomplished corporate host she has worked with many brands and companies, including; Karcher, IMI, Global Mobile Awards, The Boat Show, HSBC, BT, DELL, Suzuki, Fiat, Yamaha, Zoom Auction for F1, Phillips, EE, 02, Nikon, Honda, Mercedes, Royal Mail and Honda.
As well as sport, music and technology, Suzi loves travel, cooking and natural history. She has an honorary degree with Wolverhampton University and supports many charities including Sport Relief, Great Ormond Street, Promise Dreams, Marie Curie, UK Youth and Burn Aid.
Ortis Deley is in his sixth year of hosting Channel 5’s very popular The Gadget Show a role which Ortis loves and which has helped him develop a strong following. Ortis has also recently joined the team on Channel 5’s Police Interceptors.
As well as appearing on our screens weekly on The Gadget Show, Ortishas co-hosted the sell-out live version of the show on numerous occasions at Birmingham’s NEC, performing to over 75,000 guests at the 5-day event.
Ortisreally enjoyed his time on Police Interceptors. This was an eye-opening experience that he loved and bravely embraced. He also contributed to Ancient Top 10for the History Channel. The programme looked at the origins of technology.
Ortishas an energetic and likeable way which has kept him working as a television presenter for over 20 years. Having started his career on Trouble TVas a main anchor Ortisthen moved across to CBBCas the anchor on the very popular ShortChange. Quite quickly becoming part of the CBBC family he went on to present Why 5, X-perimental, Making It, Xchange and Live & Kicking, all for CBBC.
The move away from children’s television was seamless for Ortisand began when he was asked to host a pilot for Tomorrow’s Worldon BBC One.
Ortishas appeared as a guest technology reporter on BBC One’s The One Show, BBC Breakfast News, Watchdog, The SaurdayShowThe Alan TitchmarshShow and Daybreakfor ITV1; as well as a guest panellist on Never Mind the Buzzcocksfor BBC 2 and Channel 5’sThe Wright Stuff.
Ortis’ love of science and technology began when he was a child who was very much into sci-fi and comic books. His comic collection is fast approaching 10,000 units! He is a self-confessed bonafidegeek. Ortisalso has an honours degree in Pharmacy and is also a qualified personal trainer –something which is opening doors for some exciting TV projects.
Acting is another skill of Ortis’ which is evident from his credits-Ortishas acted in ITV’s series The Bill, Silent Witnessand Doctors on BBC One, and a number of CBBC dramas. He had starred opposite Clive Owen & Jennifer Aniston in Derailedand Noel Clarke & RafeSpall in cult flick Kidulthood.
Ortis is passionate about the work he does with charities and is a patron of First Touch.
