The GSMA’s CEO Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Environment is a new addition to the Global Mobile Awards, as part of the ‘Green Mobile’ category for 2008. It is designed to recognise outstanding environmental performance through innovative, sustainable business practices on a significant scale. The Award honours personal or organisation–wide achievement in the area of environmental responsibility, notably tangible progress by either organisations within the mobile industry, or through innovative use of the mobile platform, to tackle climate change challenges on a global basis. This discretionary award is a personal honour for the recipient who is chosen by the GSMA’s CEO alone. Entries are not required for this award.
