1b) Best Mobile Music Service

The Best Mobile Music Service award aims to attract the very best in innovative music services across the mobile value chain – from music downloads, app store music services to streaming radio and online music services - and throughout the world. Judges will be looking for innovative services that deliver a simple and compelling experience to users supported by cutting edge marketing & promotion that has resulted in dynamic market success.

The judges will shortlist four to six entries in this category, with one winner announced at the world’s leading mobile communications event, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday 16th February 2010.

Eligibility:

This category is open to companies and organisations that create, develop or deliver mobile music services and content in one or more country/market of the world. Eligible companies include:

Mobile Network Operators
Application Developers, Content Owners and Providers (such as record companies, agencies, media companies etc.)
Device manufacturers
Portal provisioning providers and content aggregators
Publishers - all players in the mobile entertainment value chain that provide products or services to networks
Entries that have been developed as a result of partnerships between operators & content owners/providers will also be welcomed as joint entries.

Judging criteria:

Entries can only be submitted for Mobile Music Services that are commercially available i.e. the service entered must have been launched prior to the closing deadline of the awards Monday 23rd November 2009 (5pm GMT). Please provide evidence to support this such as launch date of the service, including details of countries or regions where the service is available, together with reviews and statistical evidence of market success or take up.

Entries for Best Mobile Music Service will be judged on the following main criteria:

The service/content provides a compelling entertainment experience for users
The service is exciting and easy to navigate/purchase/download
What kind of music content is offered?
How many tracks does the user have access to? What technology underlies it?
Has the content ever previously been available to mobile users etc?
Appeal and relevance of the content available
Ease of use/simplicity to access and download
Revenues generated to date (Judges expect to see evidence of user take up)
Value for money
Peer to peer interaction

Entry forms, supporting materials & formats:

All entries must be submitted by Monday 23rd November 2009 (5pm GMT).

In order to ensure a consistent approach for our judges, entries must be submitted using the Category 1b) Best Mobile Music Service entry form .

Entrants are invited to submit supporting materials illustrating their specific service/content. An additional upload facility will be provided via a link in your confirmation email once your entry has been submitted. You have the opportunity to upload URLs or multimedia files, these can be either a .jpeg (for pictures), mpeg (for video) formats. You will have the ability to upload 3 additional files to accompany your entry up to a maximum file size of 10MB each. Other formats will be considered upon request to upload@globalmobileawards.com

Entries for this award category must be commercially available IN AT LEAST ONE market. Please provide evidence to support this such as launch date of service/ content, including details of countries/ regions where the service is available (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
Please describe the service? What kind of music content is offered? (1500 characters = approx 250 words)
What attracts users to visit, download, buy and return to the service? How much does it cost to subscribe and to download? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
What is innovative or unique about your service or content? What makes users want to listen, view, download and share? What is so compelling for users? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
What makes the service easy to use? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
Describe how the service has been marketed and promoted, in what regions and using which medium? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
Please provide sales/hit/download statistics if available. Please explain why it is good value for users? (1000 characters = approx 170 words)
